Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By installing or using Pantry (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. The service

Pantry helps you track ingredients, estimate expiry, and discover recipes. Ingredient detection and expiry estimation rely on AI models and are best-effort; you are responsible for verifying food safety before consumption.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and at least the age of digital consent in your country (16 in some EU member states). If you are a minor, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these terms on your behalf.

4. Your account

• Sign in is provided through Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID.
• One person per account. Households may share a pantry with up to four invited members.
• You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Privacy → Delete account.

5. Subscriptions & payments

• Pantry offers a free tier and a paid "Pantry Pro" subscription (monthly or yearly).
• Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your App Store account. Apple's terms apply to the transaction.
• Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.
• Free trials, where offered, convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled before they end.
• Refunds are governed by Apple's policies; we cannot issue refunds directly.
• Consumable in-app purchases (e.g. extra AI scan credits) are non-refundable once consumed.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to circumvent rate limits or paywalls.
• Use the App for unlawful, harmful, or harassing purposes.
• Upload images of other people without their consent.
• Submit content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.

7. AI output disclaimer

Recipe suggestions, cooking instructions, and expiry estimates are produced by AI systems and external recipe data providers. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances (allergies, dietary needs, regional ingredients). Always verify before eating. Pantry is not a substitute for medical, dietary, or food-safety advice.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its design, brand, code, and content are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. Recipe content is licensed from third parties (e.g. Spoonacular) and remains their property. You retain ownership of your photos and ingredient lists; you grant us a limited license to process them solely to operate the service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably suspect of abuse. You may terminate at any time by deleting the App and your account.

10. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including data loss, food spoilage, or allergic reactions. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the European Union (with Türkiye for the parent company), without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence still apply.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app at least 14 days before taking effect.
